Ex Partick boss backs Archibald to guide Jags back to top flight.
Former Partick Thistle manager Jackie MacNamara has backed the clubs decision to keep Alan Archibald in the Firhill dugout.
The jags released a statement yesterday announcing that Archibald would remain in charge.
MacNamara, who managed Archibald during his time at Firhill, believes its the right decision.
“He’ll [Archibald] be hurting just now, it will be raw for him,” said MacNamara.
“But I’m sure he’ll let the dust settle and look at his squad and see what he needs to bring them straight back up.”
Chairman David Beattie believes this season’s failure should not override Archibald’s recent good work.
“Alan steered the club to Premiership promotion and kept us there for five seasons, including a top six finish, a feat not achieved by any other Thistle manager in 25 years,” he said.
“He’s an intelligent manager, who knows Thistle and still has a passion for it.
“So the challenge we have set Alan is to rebuild the team with the aim of one season in the Championship then back to the Premiership
