Man seriously injured in ‘vicious assault’ in nightclub
A man was left needing surgery on his ear after an assault at a nightclub.
The 29-year-old was injured in a disturbance at Bar Budda in Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow, on Sunday morning.
He was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary, where he is said to be in a stable condition.
The suspect, who left before police arrived at the club, is white, around 6ft and wore a grey hooded top and black trousers.
Detective Constable Vhairi Macdonald said: “This was a very vicious assault which has left the victim with a very serious ear injury that requires surgery.
“We are currently viewing CCTV to identify the suspect and anyone else involved in the disturbance and appeal to anyone who was within the club at the time the incident occurred and either witnessed the disturbance or the assault taking place, to contact police immediately.”
Meanwhile, police in West Lothian are investigating after a 31-year-old man was assaulted and robbed in Broxburn.
Officers want to trace three men in connection with the attack in Maull Road at around 6pm on Saturday.
The first is around 5ft 5in and aged between 45 and 55, with grey stubble and a number of teeth missing. He wore a blue hooded top.
The second man is about 6ft, aged around 25 and had “distinctive” blue eyes. His face was covered by a scarf. A description of the third man was not available.
Detective Constable Grant Ross said: “This has understandably been a very upsetting incident for the man involved.
“He was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary where he was treated for serious injuries.
“We are appealing to anyone who may have seen anything unusual or suspicious in the area around the time or who has any information which can assist with our enquiries to get in touch.
“We would also ask that if you recognise the description of the men given you contact police.”
