New electric Scotrail train runs to success
ScotRail unleashed a new electric train this morning, taking over the route between Edinburgh and Glasgow.
The train has been running through the morning, arriving and departing on time.
The seven-carriage 385 class train by Hitachi is part of a 70 locomotive fleet being rolled out in an effort to improve the Scottish rail system.
The train includes improvements such as power sockets under the seats and operates with 18% more efficiency than the outgoing fleet.
The upgrade has been controversial, with production delays from Hitachi criticised by both ScotRail and the Scottish government.
