Glasgow sets example as knife crime at record low
English politicians are looking north to Glasgow in an effort to tackle knife crime in London.
It follows the 17th knife related death in the capital this year over the weekend, for which a 15 year old has been charged with murder.
Over the last decade, the number of homicide cases in Scotland fell by 39% from 97 to 59.
This marks the lowest number of knife-related killings since 1976, while England and Wales’ rates of knife crime are the highest since records began.
