Man left with severe injuries after assault near George Square

Greater Glasgow Police have launched an appeal for witnesses to a serious assault which took place near George Square at around 10.40pm on Saturday October 19.

Officers are looking for anybody with information on the attack, which left a 32 year-old man with severe injuries and a puncture wound to his left side.

The victim was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary and has since been released following treatment.

The suspect is described as as white, aged between 30 and 35 years of age with short brown hair and slim build, with dark hooded top and grey bottoms”.

Detective Constable Craig Muir, of Glasgow CID, said: “We are aware that the incident happened on a busy Saturday night where there may have been a number of witnesses.

“We are appealing to anyone who may have seen the assault, or the suspect afterwards, to get in contact.

“There would also have been a number of cars passing by at the time of the incident so would ask that anyone with dash cam footage to come forward as soon as possible.”

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 quoting reference number 4641 of October 19, 2019.
