SPFL Wednesday Round-up

It was a good night to be at home in the Scottish Premiership last night, with all five matches being won by the hosts. Here is the biggest moments from match day 26.

Celtic put five past Hearts at Parkhead to move ten points clear of Rangers at the top of the Scottish Premiership last night. Four second half goals secured an emphatic victory for the league leaders who had led at the break thanks to a Callum McGregor goal. Hearts midfielder Marcel Langer was sent off late on for a dangerous lunge on Scott Brown.

Meanwhile, Steven Gerrard’s Rangers threw away a one-goal lead at Rugby Park as they fell further behind their city rivals in the title race. Late goals from Stephen O’Donnell and Eamonn Brophy gave Kilmarnock their second win under new boss Alex Dyer. After the match, Gerrard said his side, “couldn’t handle the pressure.”

Elsewhere, Jack Ross continued his positive start as Hibernian boss as they swept aside Ross County, winning 3-0 at Easter Road. Livingston also secured a 2-1 victory over St. Mirren to cement their position in fifth.

St. Johnstone continued their rich vein of form, beating Motherwell thanks to an injury time winner from Chris Kane. Tommy Wright’s side endured a disastrous start to the season but are now only three points off sixth place.
