Children’s charity launches online “One Stop Christmas Shop”
Children’s Hospices Across Scotland (CHAS) has launched a website for Christmas shoppers, aiming to raise money for vulnerable children and support local businesses.
The “One Stop Christmas Shop” will be live until the end of November, with record-high numbers of festive shoppers expected to go online this year because of coronavirus restrictions.
More than 65 businesses are taking part, and a percentage of their sales will be donated to CHAS, helping it care for vulnerable children and their families throughout Scotland.
The charity is the only one in Scotland that provides hospice services for babies, children and young people with life-shortening conditions.
CHAS’ events manager, Diane Alton, said: “These past few months have been really hard for so many so we wanted to do something to offer people the opportunity to help local businesses this Christmas while also supporting CHAS children and families.
“By purchasing festive gifts through our One Stop Christmas Shop our supporters can tick off gifts from their list, whilst shopping local, all with the added bonus that their purchases are making a real difference.
“We are grateful to everyone participating in this online shopping event which we hope will prove to be a fantastic, festive fundraiser for all.”
It comes alongside the launch of the annual CHAS Christmas appeal, which aims to raise funds for the support of families with dying children.
The charity says these parents will be experiencing loneliness and heartbreak, without immediate support, due to restrictions on social contact.
