Late Rangers win sees them on the verge of Premiership title
Exactly one year ago today, Rangers’ disastrous form after the winter break hit an all-time low after they were beaten by a single goal at home to Hamilton, causing them to slip 13 points behind Celtic.
365 days later, Rangers have not lost a league game, they are 18 points clear of Celtic and they are potentially one game away from winning their 55th league title.
The night away to Livingston was full of drama with striker Alfredo Morelos being booked for simulation in the first half after a challenge from goalkeeper Max Stryjek.
The incident left Steven Gerrard seething at referee John Beaton’s decision to not give a penalty, resulting in the Ibrox boss being sent to the stands after being shown two yellow cards—resulting in the first red card of Rangers’ season.
This did not deter the league leaders, who took the lead thanks to an 87th minute goal from Morelos.
With fireworks both on and off the pitch, where does this leave Rangers now?
Gerrard’s men could win the title as early as Sunday if they beat 6th place St Mirren on Saturday and Celtic drop ANY points away to Dundee United on Sunday afternoon.
If Rangers and Celtic win their weekend fixtures, this means that the light blues could win the title at Parkhead on 21 March with as little as a draw.
“We’re closer to where we want to be and I’m feeling really good.”

Rangers play Slavia Prague twice before the Old Firm later this month, and if they manage to beat the Czech side, Gerrard’s men may have a lot more than their 55th title to celebrate on the horizon.
