Finnieston exhibition shows Glasgow city centre during lockdown

Skypark in Finnieston are showcasing their first public exhibition of the year showcased by photographer and journalist Laura Coventry.
The exhibition, named ‘Reset Glasgow’, has Laura’s shots of Glasgow’s eerily empty streets on display which were taken during the first lockdown in April 2020.
Laura thought that lockdown would be a perfect photo opportunity to capture a moment of history, and plans to go back and re-take the photographs in a bustling city centre.
She said: “Some people will look at the photos and feel sadness because that’s happened, but I would hope that they would be more positive and think about how we’re not there now and we can look forward to the future.”
The display includes photographs of a deserted St Enoch Square, George Square, and the famous ‘Masked Duke’.
Laura added: “It might inspire people to get together and make the streets of Glasgow busier again. Let’s shop on the high street, let’s socialise with friends, let’s go out to bars and restaurants.
“People make Glasgow so let’s all make Glasgow again.”
‘Reset Glasgow’ will run until the end of March and is free of charge.
