New seafood restaurant set to open in Glasgow

A restaurant called Fat Lobster is coming soon to Glasgow, bringing a small plate concept and sustainable, Scottish seafood to the city’s gastronomical scene.

The high-quality food will be accompanied by a selection of organic wines and cocktails.

The closer details are shrouded in mystery for now with the restaurant owners holding their cards close to their chest, with the only menu item revealed so far being an oyster bar.

The location of the restaurant is also not confirmed yet, though their Instagram page did not refute the suggestion that the Fat Lobster might be taking over the former location of The Mussel Inn, one of Glasgow’s most popular seafood spots that was forced to close due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

This would place the Fat Lobster on 157 Hope Street in an area with plenty of other well-known restaurants, such as Gamba, Slug & Lettuce, or Buck’s Bar. The restaurant owners must be quite confident in their concept being able to cut through the crowd.

Fat Lobster continues the trend of seafood restaurants opening in Glasgow with Shucks, Kelp, and Gost all opening in the past few weeks.
