A Scottish toddler has broken records, becoming the youngest person to reach the Mount Everest basecamp.

Two-year-old Carter Dallas climbed to the south basecamp while taking breaks on dad Ross’ back with his mum Jade alongside.

Managing to reach 17,598ft above sea level, Carter beat the previous record set by a four-year-old from the Czech Republic.

Two medics tested the family’s blood and were amazed by Carter’s results which showed no issues in coping with the altitude.

Carter and his parents are currently on a year-long trip around Asia and hope to continue to prove that age is just a number.

The Glasgow trio took part in breathing techniques and ice bath plunges in order to help them complete the challenge a day after they landed in Kathmandu.

Carter hopes his adventures will inspires others to go out and see the real world.
