Transfers: This weekend’s SPFL rumor roundup

By Peter Mackay

Ross County star Yan Dhanda has reportedly signed a pre-contract agreement with fellow Scottish Premiership club Hearts.

The former Swansea midfielder is out of contract this summer and Hearts are said to be readying a bid to try and land the stand-in Staggies skipper this month.

Yan Dhanda signed for the Highland side under former Celtic player Malky Mackay and has been a fan favourite since his arrival.

Dhanda, who is from Indian descent, was crucial in rescuing the Staggies from the drop last season as he netted a penalty in the play-offs.

Rangers are closing in on Lens winger Oscar Cortes.

The Columbian is travelling to Glasgow for a medical and could become Phillipe Clement’s third signing of the January window.

Cortes would join the club on loan initially, with a buy option hoping to be inserted by Ibrox chiefs.

The right winger has scored once and grabbed once one assist in just four appearances for Lens this season.

South of the border, former Celtic winger Jota has agreed a deal to join West Ham United.

The Portuguese moved to Saudi Arabia in a twenty-million-pound deal in the summer, but has struggled for game time at Al-Ittihad.

Treble winner Jota is closing in on a move back to the UK to link up with former Celt David Moyes.

It is claimed that Jota is incredibly keen on a move to the London club, with a deal between clubs hoping to be thrashed out before the transfer deadline.
