Old cannabis farm found beside courthouse

An old cannabis farm has been discovered in a building near Glasgow Sheriff Court following a fire.

Firefighters and police attended the property on Carlton Place beside the courthouse as a fire blazed at around midday on Saturday.

Police have since discovered the remanence of an old cannabis farm on the premises following an inspection of the building.

Police Scotland have confirmed that they are currently investigating the incident.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “The remnants of an old cannabis cultivation were found within the building.

“Enquiries are continuing into the fire which is being treated as willful. Anyone with information should contact 101 quoting incident number 1471 of January 27, 2024.”
