Inverclyde train lines cancelled following station closure

Snow and ice to hit tonight could cause disruption with transportation / Credit: ScotRail

Inverclyde commuters are facing significant travel difficulties following train services being cancelled and various roadworks.

The train station at Port Glasgow has been closed to take down the old bridge after a new footbridge was installed to make the station more accessible.

This has resulted in the Gourock to Glasgow Central and Wemyss Bay to Glasgow Central ScotRail trainlines being cancelled until Tuesday morning.

Instead, replacement bus services will be available near the stations affected.

Trains will still be able to run between Paisley Gilmour Street and Glasgow Central.

On top of train service disruptions, there are plenty of roadworks along the A8 in Greenock and Langbank.

The likes of Rue End Street and Greenock Road is down to single lane traffic due to the works, making travel to and from Glasgow all the more cumbersome.
