Popular southside pub announces reopening date
Popular southside pub, The Pollok Inn, has announced its long awaited reopening date following a huge refurb.
The pub, to be renamed The Brockburn, is currently undergoing a £340,000 makeover on the interior and exterior, adding a new sign and lights outside and completely revamping the bar area with a new lounge.
Ran by Proper Pubs, a community focussed company, The Brockburn will look to reimagine the long-standing pub while still maintaining what has drawn punters to it for decades.
Proper Pubs recently undertook a similar venture with Cameron’s, formally The Carnarvon, in the west end to great success.
Following a £250,000 renovation, Cameron’s have improved foot traffic, introduced live music and comedy, and even added a quiz night.
The Brockburn will be hoping to replicate the success of Cameron’s with the new look pub offering a pool and darts team, live music and DJs, and of course, carrying on the pub’s tradition of weekly karaoke.
Set to open on Friday, 23 February with a welcome back party. Locals to the pub have not been able to hide their excitement for the new and improved venue.
One Facebook user commented on the Brockburns page, “Going the whole hog with the new name as well can’t wait for the opening.”
Another said, “Rock with the Brock”.
It is safe to say that the refurb is exciting management and locals alike and we can’t wait to see how it turns out.
