Clyde will be aiming to secure their fourth league win of the season tomorrow evening when they welcome Forfar Athletic to New Douglas Park.

The Bully Wee, managed by Ian McCall are stranded at the foot of the Scottish League Two table and are facing the dreaded play-offs to retain their SPFL status.

However, three points against the Loons, their first back-to-back league victories since December 2021 would see the gap between ninth-place Stranraer cut to five points.

The match comes after the Hamilton-based club halted a six-match winless run in all competitions with a 2-0 victory over fourth-place Dumbarton on Saturday.

Whereas, eight-placed Forfar are unbeaten in five matches, their best run of form since last September and can go seven points behind the top four with victory over their relegation-threatened hosts.

Bully Wee supporter, Sean Hart offered his thoughts ahead of tomorrow’s vital match in the club’s quest for survival.

He said: “It’s important that we try to take something and reduce that gap. There is still a lot of games to be played after tomorrow, but psychologically back-to-back wins could be a big boost to the players for the rest of the season.

“Confidence is a big thing at this level, I couldn’t tell you the last time we won consecutive games.”

McCall was appointed manager in November of last year, replacing Brian McLean who was sacked after four months in charge.

Mr Hart continued by detailing the difference in the team since McCall’s appointment:

He said: “There has been a clear turnover in the squad since he [McCall] came in, we have had ten or 11 leave and eight come in.

“I think he [McCall] has tried to make us more solid defensively and build a platform from that.

“He has brought in a few more experienced attacking options with the signing of Jaze Kabia and Jordan Allan returning on loan.”

On whether the Bully Wee will continue to be in the SPFL next season, Mr Hart remains hopeful.

He concluded: “There has been improvement since the new players came in, so hopefully that continues and it can give us a good chance of getting out the predicament we are in.”

In tomorrow’s other league fixture, Peterhead will be looking to consolidate second-place when Bonnyrigg Rose Athletic visit Balmoor.

The Blue Toon have only won two of their last six matches after coming from three goals behind to draw with Forfar at the weekend.

Meanwhile, Bonnyrigg, before Saturday’s 2-0 defeat to East Fife, had only lost once in their previous six league games.

Robbie Horn’s men are currently sixth in the table, but could leapfrog the Fifers with victory and reduce the distance between themselves and Dumbarton to five points in their push for a promotion play-off berth.

Elsewhere, league leaders Stenhousemuir remain 16 points clear at the summit after a 2-2 draw with in-form Elgin City.

The Black and Whites are seventh in the table and have witnessed an upturn in form under manager Allan Hale with only three defeats in their last nine matches.

Whereas, on the back of achieving a record-breaking 12-match winning streak, the Warriors’ form has suffered a blip with only five points gained from their last 12 on offer.

The Spartans strengthened their position in third after snatching a last-gasp win against Stranraer with a brace from Sonkur in the second and fifth minute of stoppage time.
