City Sightseeing Glasgow announces new tour

City Sightseeing Glasgow have announced a new ‘yellow’ bus route which is set to commence on 17 May.

The service will cover 19 new locations in the Southside and East End, including Barrowlands, Tennent’s Brewery, Tramway, Pollok Park and Glasgow Science Centre.

Journeys will also feature Celtic Park and Ibrox Stadium, the home of Celtic and Rangers Football Club respectively.

There has been positive reaction to the announcement on social media with Celtic Park Events taking to X (formerly Twitter) to express their delight with the new iniataive.

@celticparkevent said: “We are delighted to be working in partnership with @glasgowtour this summer to welcome visitors to Celtic Park on the new yellow bus route.”

Stewart McDonald, SNP MP for Glasgow Southside also commented on the development by heralding it a “boost” for tourism.

@StewartMcDonald said: “Absolutely delighted that the city sightseeing @glasgowtour buses will soon be coming to the Southside – a boost for local business, tourism and heritage.”

In Glasgow, the most populous city in Scotland, members of the public provided insight into why they believe the new tour will be beneficial.

Andy, 38 said: “The buses will be reaching a wider range of the public and I think it will give Celtic Park and Ibrox more recognition.”

Ella, 22 said: “I think the busses will bring in more tourists.”

Access to Hampden Football Stadium as well as Govan, Strathbungo, Shawlands and the Battlefield area will also be available within the service.

When it launches in the middle of May, the seven-day tour will last up to 90 minutes and run every half-hour from 10am to 4pm with prices set at £15 for adults and £8 for children.
