Trades Hall to host Glasgow’s Comic Art Festival celebration
Glasgow Comic Art Festival is an adult-only event celebrating comics and the Arts, and it will be held at the Trades Hall on Saturday 9 March, from 4pm until 9pm.
This is a small event for Indie comic makers and there will be life drawing lessons, lino printing workshops, lectures and more.
By bringing artists together this is a chance to highlight a variety of work from a diverse range of creators.
Tea Painter and Comic maker, Paddy Tomlinson, is one of the artists that will exhibit their work.
Tomlinson said: “When people come and buy my pieces it can become a bit of a spiritual thing for myself as I won’t make it again, it is a special thing for the buyer.”
Tomlinson further mentioned his inspiration for the concepts of his art.
The tea painter said: “Exploring in college, I was inspired by film, screenplays, and printing. It dawned on me when I was making my book that this is what I wanted to do. “
Goofy Goff, an Arts and craft shop that specialises in Horror Occult Homeware and Apparel, will also be displaying their blended knowledge of horror and astrological products.
Goofy Goff said: “We want to convey the message that Goths can have a laugh to, being a Goth and having a sense of humour are things that can coexist.
“The idea behind our pieces is just to make people smile and celebrate what it is to be alternative. Growing up alternative in Scotland is difficult and will always be, it is a shared bonded experience for the community.”
The art festival is the perfect place for artists to reveal their work with like-minded individuals, yet it is an environment that is an open celebration for all.
Tickets range from £3 to £10 and are available here.
