Pollokshields community hub opens Iftar to wider Glasgow community

Residents across Glasgow are being invited to join the community Iftar events during Ramadan – with free food for everyone regardless of their faith.

Pollokshields community hub, Bowling Green Together have organised three Iftar events throughout Ramadan – a month which sees Muslims around the world fast, pray and reflect.

Throughout the month, the community hub, located in the southside of Glasgow, will welcome not only Muslims, but people from other faiths as well, to join them in a community Iftar where they break their fast from 6pm in the evening.

The hub are running Iftar events for three days in March – the 15th, 22nd and 29th.

The events are a chance for those struggling with the cost-of-living crisis or homelessness to open their fast in a safe and friendly environment. For non-muslims, it’s a chance to learn about Ramadan and what it means to billions of Muslims worldwide.

More information on how to book a slot for the Iftar, or volunteer on the day, can be found on Bowling Green Together’s Instagram.
