Viral Willy Wonka Experience painted at the Clydeside in Glasgow

Glasgow has long been one of the epicenters of art in the UK, and a new mural has appeared in the citywide street gallery.

Based on the recent viral Willy Wonka experience, a Glasgow based artist has instilled a new mural at the Clydeside to cement it into the city’s history.

The mural stars two of the characters who were at the forefront of the experiences internet stardom: “The Unknown” and a very gloomy Oompa Loompa.

Artist ejek98 took to Instagram to share his new piece with the world and captioned it: “I couldn’t resist.”

The event has taken the internet by storm over the last few weeks after House of Illuminati charged £35 per ticket for the chocolate factory experience at Box Hub Warehouse.

Customers were left disappointed and children “upset” at receiving a handful of jellybeans with a glass of limeade in a near empty warehouse.

The event became an international story, reported in the USA by Fox Business and The Hollywood Reporter and even got a shout out on Saturday Night Live in a skit with Sydney Sweeney.

Glasgow is already the home of so many famous murals and perhaps the new Wonka art will secure a place in the history books.
