Potholes Make Glasgow calling council with rubber ducks

Potholes in Glasgow are covered in rubber ducks to highlight how much they have affected the city.

The Facebook group, Potholes Make Glasgow, are eager to make people realise the extent of the issue.

As the rubber ducks will stand out, the group are hoping to attract an audience and raise awareness of the pothole situation.

Nithsdale Road is the destination of a few potholes therefore a few rubber ducks as well.

This group also identified that any member who finds a rubber duck receives a sticker and with 1.5k people in Potholes Make Glasgow, this turned into a wild goose chase.

Glasgow City Council have been contacted many times by Potholes Make Glasgow about the state of the roads.

Ione Campsie who is part of the Neighbourhood office in the council said: “We have teams out working every day, fixing potholes and have regularly resurfacing projects”.

The council are adamant that potholes are in the midst of repairs and are trying their best to not disrupt traffic in the process.

Nithsdale Road was closed many times from April 2021 to February this year due to 185 potholes.

The Facebook group protested in February from the lack of pothole repairs.

As the council feel they are doing enough, Potholes Make Glasgow are disagreeing.
