Exhibition celebrates Glasgow Graffiti
An exhibition showcasing the work of graffiti artists from Glasgow has taken the spray-painted signs off the streets and onto canvas.
Featuring the work of over 15 Scottish based artists, the showroom displays canvases, prints and items of clothing which are all available to buy.
The four-day event started on Tuesday and saw around 120 people visit the gallery.
Much of the artwork features iconic Glasgow symbols and
Event promoter, Charlie hope the exhibition takes away the negative connotation around graffiti art, giving artists a safe place to show off their work.
He said: “Especially with graffiti work, a lot of it goes undocumented.
“People walk by and not realize the effort that artists have gone through to create.”
All of the pieces include the artists ‘tag’ – an identifiable symbol or signature used when spray-painting around Glasgow.
The exhibition is located at SaltSpace Cooperative Gallery on Floor 2, Axiom Building, 54 Washington St, Glasgow and is open between 12-10pm with an entry fee of £1.
