Glasgow Berlinkys set to open tonight

A new entertainment venue on Sauchiehall Street is preparing for the grand opening tonight.

At 5pm today Berlinkys will open up the doors and welcome in customers.

Glasgow Standard was given a sneak peek behind the scenes ahead of the big night.

Berlinkys is an entertainment venue set to offer a range of daily shows, acts and performances.

From comedy nights to aerial dancers, as well as offering a variety of food and drink, Berlinkys wants to bring something different to Glasgow.

Lee Cammy, resident host at Berlinkys, is “buzzing” for the opening night.

When asked how he would describe the venue, he said: “For me Berlinkys is a one stop shop for everything fun wicked and cool, between the show girls, the circus acts and the amazing array of entertainment that we have got to offer here.

“It is definitely a first in Scotland, let alone Glasgow.”

Lee will be performing at the opening night with the house band.

He hopes that the “vibrant and unique” venue will encourage people to come to Sauchiehall Street.

He said: “There are a lot of students who come here and they think Sauchiehall Street is this place which used to be amazing, but it still can be amazing and this is why Berlinkys is here.”

Describing the club, Lee said its interior is “quirky with a little bit of poshness” but does not forget its “Glasgow roots,” hoping that people will come together for a unique experience at Berlinkys.
