‘That Guy’ campaign renewed after a spike in rape cases

Police Scotland have renewed their ‘That Guy’ campaign, an AD urging young men to speak up and not condone inappropriate behaviors amongst their friends.

This six week initiative will run across multiple platforms, in response to rising sexual offences reported in Scotland. There has been a rise in cases of 19.5% from April to September of this year.

The campaign emphasises the importance of men to advocate for women’s safety and take responsibility.

We spoke to Ally Heather, a writer and broadcaster, who has been heavily involved in the “That Guy” for the past few years after feeling guilty from his younger self’s lack of action towards men in his life who mistreated women.

You can watch the interview with him on our news bulletin at 4:30pm on Glasgow Standard News. There is also a clip of it on our X account below.
