Men’s mental health charity run sells out in Glasgow
A charity run to raise money and awareness of men’s physical and mental health issues has sold out in Glasgow.
MoRunning is once again coming to Glasgow for its thirteenth year since 2011. The event is in partnership with the Movember foundation.
Founder of MoRunning, Dave Krangel, said: “MoRunning is to promote and raise funds and awareness for Movember, this year so far MoRunners have raised over £90,000 across all locations.”
He went on to say: “Glasgow has sold out which is great. MoRunning seems to be growing in popularity again which is superb.”
One hell of an amazing atmosphere
MoRunner, Alan Glynn, has been taking part in Glasgow’s event since 2012, describing it as: “my first ever official race in my running journey.”
Alan said: “I got into MoRunning because they’re extremely well put on events with one hell of an amazing atmosphere that supports very important causes.”
Glasgow’s MoRun will be taking place at 9:30am, November 24, Nelson’s Column, Glasgow Green.
Movember raises awareness by encouraging men to go cleanshaven before November to grow a moustache for the month.
Dave Krangel said: “We see a great mix of men and women, kids and all ages up to over seventy years old.”
The founder said: “MoRunning was an idea I came up with as a way to get anyone and everyone out running and to support a great cause in Movember.”
Movember is the leading charity in men’s health, specifically concerned with raising awareness and money for mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer.
MoRuns happen all over the UK during November, including Cardiff, Edinburgh, and London.
