Final homes to be reconnected to power today

Scotland’s primary energy delivery board are close to completing their efforts to reconnect homes that lost power during Storm Éowyn.
Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) have been working to restore supply to homes since the storm hit the country on Friday.
They said that only 900 homes still needed to be reconnected and they believe that operations to do so will almost be completed today.
Andy Smith, director of customer operations for northern Scotland for SSEN, said: “This storm has been the most destructive for parts of our network in many years, and rebuilding damaged overhead lines has been a huge task.
“While we’ve done this, we’ve done all we can to be there for our customers, whether it’s been at the end of the phone, or through the extensive welfare provision we’ve put in place in communities.
“I’m grateful to customers for their patience and understanding while we work to reconnect the last remaining homes.”
