GLASGOW WELCOMES HIGH PROFILE CHEFS AND RESTAURANTEURS IN FIRST MICHELIN CEREMONY HOSTED OUTSIDE OF ENGLAND

The prestigious event took place at Glasgow’s historic Kelvingrove art gallery, with it’s dramatic 19th-century Gothic Victorian architecture serving as the perfect backdrop to the ceremony.

Glasgow bested major cities such as Edinburgh and Dublin in securing the event to host.

The occasion serves as a victory lap following the crippling challenges presented by the covid 19 pandemic. A period which led to the closure of a number of acclaimed Glasgow based restaurants.

Glasgow claimed its first Michelin star in over a decade in 2021 and boasted a second star only a year later.

Glasgow’s very own restaurants took home five awards, and several were added to the highly regarded Michelin guide.

Veteran organist Paul Carroll was joined by a local piper to perform a fitting soundtrack to the evening.

Ceremony goers were taken via coach to an afterparty at the historic venue The Old Fruit market in the heart of the Merchant City.

National Chef of Scotland, Gary Maclean curated an impressive banquet of the finest Scottish sea food, inspiring a large crowd to que for a taste of the mouth-watering selection.

The award ceremony took Glasgow’s vibrant and diverse restaurant scene and platformed it in front of the restaurant world. The future of Glasgow’s dining industry is filled with promise.
