Local Glasgow record shop to celebrate 9th birthday with showcase gig

Local record shop and record label ‘Last night from Glasgow’ is celebrating its ninth birthday with a showstopping gig in march which will host many local and smaller bands.
This is expected as almost for a decade now, the record shop and owner Ian Smith has been pushing and putting first smaller and more local artists with its store counterpart selling Vinyl’s of local bands alongside the label side producing and helping them create music in the first place.
The store has become a hotspot for up-and-coming artists. with connections to emerging acts such as Sister John, China Crisis, Peter Capaldi and The Cowboy mouth.
“It’s turned into quite a nice community, everyone knows each other” said Isabella McHardy, PR manager for the store and label.
With its store counterpart selling vinyl’s of local bands alongside the label side producing and helping them create music in the first place, the store has become a hotspot for up-and-coming artists.
Not only that but through a subscription service has been pushing the release and upkeep of new vinyl’s as a media. This is via a monthly subscription in which patrons receive a batch of albums to enjoy while also knowing their putting forward money for smaller artists
The gig will feature local Scottish artists with the line-up consisting of The Cowboy Mouth, Paul McGeechan, Chris Thomson, Jerry Burns and Xan Tyler as they are set to perform at the cottier’s theatre on March 15th.
