Sauchiehall Street opens after road closure, due to Restaurant fire

Sauchiehall street is busy again after it was temporally closed due to a fire inside the restaurant Mother India.

The incident was reported at 11:15am after the head chef noticed smoke coming from the building from the building, he contacted fire services that were able to contain the fire.

Roads were closed, with police warning people to avoid the area due to the road closures.

Nobody was hurt, however a cause of the blaze is still unknown.

Staff were in shock as they were all about to start their shift at 12:00pm.

Head Chef at Mother India, Amir said:

“After we all arrived we were very depressed, we are just very confused to what has happened and we are worried about how the business will continue”.

Renovations are currently underway in the restaurants to try and restore the damaged sections.
