GTA VI release date believed to be late 2025
The release date for Scottish development studio Rockstar North’s Grand Theft Auto Six will fall in or after April 2025, say wealth management experts.
Nick McKay and Michael Pachte of Wedbush Securities noted that Rockstar parent company Take Two Interactive valued their next fiscal year to be a downfall from $8 billion to $7 billion.
With Grand Theft Auto 5 surpassing $1 billion in just three days, its follow-up is expected to do the same, and so the lack of growth in fiscal year 24-25 suggests that it is not likely to involve the sequel’s release.
This follows statements from higher ups who note the time it takes to make a game of such size work properly.
During an earnings call, Take Two CEO Strauss Zelnick said: “We’re seeking perfection, and when we feel we’ve optimized creatively, that’s the time to release.
“Our goal is to align the interest of everyone who works there with the interest of the shareholders, that keeps us all pointing in the same direction.
“So, there is inherent tension, potentially, between getting something to market and creating perfection, but this company errs on the side of perfection.”
