Student-run fashion fundraiser to have 10th anniversary

Glasgow’s largest student fundraiser, Glasgow charity fashion show (GCFS) will have its 10th annual event.

The event will take place on the 16 February at the Old Fruitmarket.

The Old Fruitmarket can be located, tucked away next to the city halls in Glasgow Merchant City quarter.

GCFS said: “We have cloakroom access, show programme and flip flops sorted! The venue is accessible by car, subway and bus, so all you have to worry about is having a good time.”

The appeal for funds will be for the charity, Impact Arts located in Glasgow.

Impact Arts is a life transforming art project for people and communities in Scotland.

Impact Arts is a Scotland-based charity that is committed to “tackling poverty and inequality through creativity and by bringing communities together.”

CEO of Impact Arts, Fiona Daring said: “The little nugget that art can be transformative is the essence of what Impact Arts is, we started in Glasgow and we now have bases in Edinburgh and North Lanark shire.”

Impact Arts said: “Over, 2023, Impact Arts worked with 3898 people on community-based projects and raised over £2m to deliver services that will improve people’s quality of life.”

Daring said: “Our ethos is still the same as it was 30 years ago, focusing on peoples mental health well being and bringing communities together.”

The clothes on display will be represented through the theme, Dreams: For one night and one night only.

The shows gold sponsor, Selective Personnel is an employment agency that allows students to pick up shifts that work around their schedules.

The sponsor has aided the fashion show in terms of raising money and awareness.

The event has already sold out all their standard tickets, however, VIP tickets are still available on their Facebook website.

A VIP ticket includes, an official pre party, over £20 worth of drinks per person.

The ticket also covers live entertainment, access to VIP areas and goodie bags.

GCFS silver sponsor, Skypark has donated goodie bags for the event.

GCFS said: “This means that all VIP ticket holders will have a one-of-a-kind experience with a fantastic surprise bag to take home.”

GCFS said: “Skypark is a forward-thinking business environment, GCFS has been extremely lucky to meet the staff at Skypark, gain tenant support and attend their socials, hosting a bake sale whilst supporting local businesses.”

Exclusive tickets also contain free cloakroom and show programme as well as an all exclusive DREAMS after party.
