Record-breaking numbers sign petition to stop Loch Lomond Flamingo Land in its tracks

More than 80,000 people have objected to proposed plans for a Loch Lomond Flamingo Land.

Balloch residents are urging locals to oppose plans for the Loch Lomond Flamingo Land resort at the West Dunbartonshire Council meeting this coming Wednesday.

This follows Flamingo Land bosses being one step closer to actualising development plans as the bid to build the tourist complex gained the support of council planners.

The Flamingo Land planning application has been the most opposed development proposal in Scottish history, with over 80,000 people lodging objections through a petition organised by Scottish Greens.

Green MSP Ross Greer said: “Our record-setting 80,000 objections show how strongly people across Scotland feel about this destructive proposal.

“Balloch is no place for a mega-resort like this. The fact that [developers] are persevering with the most unpopular planning application in Scottish history speaks volumes about the company’s attitude towards the local community.”
