Scotrail disruptions: Train services from Glasgow to Edinburgh

1 min read

Trainlines between Edinburgh and Glasgow are expected to face delays and disruption until February 1.

This is due to rockfall works on the line as ScotRail engineers install safety nets to prevent falling boulders which could possibly endanger workers and passengers travelling.

Many routes will be affected throughout the week and ScotRail has asked that commuters plan their journeys in advance to avoid any inconvenience.

This follows previous disruptions to services due to Storm Isha and Storm Jocelyn which has caused further problems for those who travel by train.

The Glasgow to Edinburgh line via Falkirk High will terminate at Linlithgow and there will be no services between Linlithgow and Edinburgh Waverly this week.

There will also be no services between Falkirk Grahamstown, Bathgate and Edinburgh Waverly.

No direct trains from Glasgow to Edinburgh means that rail replacement services will be offered throughout to provide alternative travel.

ScotRail says the works are vital to ensure the long-term safety of all those travelling along the Edinburgh lines.
